Top Pick

Gylfi Sigurdsson (MID, 8.0m)

This is a man of incredible consistency in FPL. Aside from his debut season at Everton when he didn’t get enough game time and was often pushed out to the wing, Gylfi has been a regular in the upper echelons of FPL midfielders.

Last season was his best (by a whole point) and this year with a more settled side under Silva I expect great things!

Differential Pick

Dominic Calvert-Lewin  (FWD, 6.0m)

Marco Silva clearly is not a fan of Cenk Tosun and the Turkish striker is linked with a myriad of routes out of the club. He does seem to be a fan of DCL, as the young English striker is getting increasing opportunities to make the no.9 position his own (particularly after Richarlison failed in his short-lived career as OOP forward).

He is available for just 6.0m and, with those opening fixtures and the faith of his manager, could be incredible value.

*Note – since writing this Kean joined Everton and could place DCL’s place under threat!

Defensive Pick

Lucas Digne (DEF, 6.0m)

This is quite steep for a defender, but Digne will surely be worth it by the end of the season. He created more chances than any other defender last year and Everton got a surprising 14 clean sheets on their way to 8th place. I fully expect Digne to be up there with the likes of Luiz, Alonso and Walker by May.

Steer Clear

Theo Walcott (MID, 6.5m)

It’s a trap! Walcott is the classic example of a player who has games of sheer brilliance, and then he returns to anonymity. I fell for his tricks last season and I shan’t be making that mistake again, and I encourage you not to either!
