Top Pick

Wilfred Zaha (MID, 7.0m)

Not only has Wilfred Zaha been pushed back to midfielder status, but he also wasn’t given a price rise to go with it! He would have scored 21 more points as a midfielder last year and therefore would have outscored the likes of Sane, Son and Eriksen. It does depend on whether or not he gets a move elsewhere, and if so will he go back to the wing or stay in a more central role, but if he stays at Palace he could be an OOP gem.

Differential Pick

Christian Benteke (FWD, 6.0m)

OK… I know! Benteke has been more of a joke in FPL in recent years, but let’s not forget this is the guy who came to England and scored an average of 12 goals a season for 4 years before the move to Palace.

Defensive Pick

Patrick Van Aanholt (DEF, 5.5m)

With AWB making the move to Man United, there’s really only one option for FPL managers looking at the Palace defence. Van Aanholt is well-known as a marauding left-back who likes a shot on goal. He’s one of few full-backs with more goals than assists! He is rather pricey, so I would suggest only buying him when Palace have decent fixtures, but he is always one to watch.

Steer Clear

Goalkeepers (5.0m/4.5m)

It is a bit mad that Guiata has been lumped with a 5.0m price tag! Palace has struggled at the back for years and could get worse without a decent replacement for AWB.

There’s also the ever haunting spectre of rotation with Wayne Hennessey occasionally coming in to drop a few crosses before returning to the bench.
