Liverpool

Despite finishing with a massive 97 points (3rd highest in Premier League history, yes I’m in the generation who thinks football started in 1992), Liverpool didn’t clinch their first league title since before the Premier League began.

This summer has been about consolidation for Klopp, with injured players and youth team players coming in, rather than spending big. And why would you want to change it up too much when their incredible high-paced game took them so far last year, including (let’s not forget) to another Champions League title!

Decidedly average fixtures for Liverpool to open their campaign, however, don’t let that put you off. Last season they were generally fixture-proof so the only difference this could make is if you choose double Liverpool instead of a triple for your opening squad.
