As promised in one of my earlier preseason articles, this year I’m looking to take a more analytical approach to my recommendations for your FPL team.

I studied maths at uni and spend my working life on spreadsheets, so I hope I can transfer those skills into creating useful output for FPL as well! My first focus is on fixtures.

Clearly, the most useful out will be some kind of ranking of fixture difficulty over the upcoming period of fixtures.

Most FPL managers try to think at least 6 matches ahead when it comes to fixtures, so that’s my starting point and what I’ll be using throughout the season.

However, often an even longer-term view is required when putting together your GW1 squad, so we’ll look at 10 matches as well in this article.
