Arsenal captain Laurent Koscielny has gone AWOL to leave Arsenal this summer.

Both Bordeaux and Rennes have agreed on personal terms with the Veteran defender. (RMC) With his departure, Granit Xhaka is set to become the new Gunners’ captain.

TF: Koscielny leaving will be a blessing in disguise for Arsenal (Age and error-strewn output). They can invest the high wage bill in a better, more mobile, first-team CB to partner Holding, Sokratis and possibly Mustafi. On the downside, they will miss his leadership.

Talking Mustafi, he should be another player Arsenal needs to move on. Error-prone and unable to keep up with the pace on a counter, he needs replacing with more athletic young defender.
