The transfer market for the top five leagues is underwhelmingly quiet after an initial flurry of activity.

Although, this didn’t stop from churning out mouthwatering rumors. Let’s look at the latest set of rumors surrounding English Premier League clubs and our verdict on those transfer news:

The top stories (TF – Top Flight Verdict)

Emery has confirmed that Real Madrid and Spanish U21 midfielder, Dani Ceballos will be joining the Gunners with a one-year loan deal in place. (Fabrizio Romano)

TF: Arsenal is getting their hands on a gem who can progress with the ball well and wins lots of fouls. Gunner’s should try hard to insert an option to buy because he will be a hit under Emery. According to Gunners’ boss, he can play as an eight or a ten in the midfield, which will lessen the void left by Ramsey.

Unwanted at Inter, Icardi rejects Arsenal’s approach in which the Gunners’ were set to swap last season’s top scorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with Inter for Mauro Icardi.

TF: Highly unlikely that Icardi will join Arsenal now. Even if he changes his mind, he will be costly due to his salary demands (already earning close to €5m/year, Gunners have to eclipse that figure).
