The UEFA National League winners Portugal has some catching up to do with their games in hand, in Group B.

Ukraine remains unbeaten and tops the group with 10 points after a slender 1-0 gain over Luxembourg. A five-point gap ahead of second place (Luxembourg) after their result.

Ronaldo and his teammates’ two points are accompanied by two games in hand. Their best efforts can only place them second in the group after already suffering two draws in their first two outings.

Serbia’s 4-1 win over last-place Lithuania slides them into the third place, equal on points with runners-up, Luxembourg.

The Portuguese must emulate the form showcased in their gold medal heroics or they could miss out on defending their EURO championship.
