Ajax’s Hakim Ziyech could be Manchester United’s right-wing solution

He could do the same at United, opposite Anthony Martial or Marcus Rashford on the left. He is also capable of playing on either wing or through the middle as a no. 10.

Ziyech’s technical ability and vision can bring a different element to this United side that could desperately use his creativity. Perhaps, most importantly for Solskjaer, Ziyech never seems to stop running. He possesses fantastic natural pace, and supplements that with his hard work.

The Moroccan is crucial to Ajax’s deadly high press, zipping around the opposition final third, harrying defenders until they make a mistake. Even while fasting for Ramadan, Ziyech still managed to continue his lung-busting pressing runs throughout the second half of the Champions League semifinal against Tottenham.

After an impressive three years at Ajax, Ziyech will be looking to make the move to a bigger club this summer. He’s a perfect match for Solskjaer’s system given his technical ability and work rate, and, given that he will come at a far cheaper cost than Jadon Sancho, will still allow United to really strengthen the side in other areas as they look to rejoin Europe’s elite.
