Jadon Sancho has been touted as a potential option, and the signing makes sense on all fronts – he’s a young, talented English player who would instantly bring excitement and quality to Old Trafford.

According to the CIES Football Observatory, Sancho is valued as the most expensive teenager in the world and, per David Ornstein at BBC Sport, United will have to pony up over £100 million to lure him away from Dortmund.

While Sancho would undoubtedly be a good signing, United have too many other areas of worry in their squad to be spending that kind of money on a winger. New signings are of far greater importance at center back, right back, and central midfield, where United are really lacking compared to City and Liverpool.

Virgil van Dijk’s signing has changed the market for center backs, meaning United will have to really pony up top dollars if they want to find a partner for Victor Lindelof. Quality central midfielders have been hard to come by, too, in recent years, and so United will have to dedicate a large portion of their budget to signings in those positions as well.
