David Brooks (Bournemouth, £11.5m)

You would have been forgiven at the start of the season for thinking that Bournemouth were mad for spending £11.5m on a youngster with 3 goals in 30 appearances for Sheffield United, but he has repaid Eddie Howe’s faith immediately. Brooks has already scored 7 goals for Bournemouth this season with managed minutes and a couple of injuries, so the club will hope he only increases this tally over the coming years.

Raul Jimenez (Wolves, Loan with €38m option to buy exercised)

Joao Moutinho added a touch of class to Wolves, but Jimenez was the finishing touch (literally). The Mexican striker has been key to Wolves’ success with 13 goals and 10 assists, linking up well with promotion hero Jota in the second half of the season. It’s not really surprising then that Wolves have moved to make his stay at Molineux permanent!

Next. De Ligt still open to Manchester United transfer. dark

Salomon Rondon (Newcastle, Loan)

Rondon was too good to go down to the Championship with West Brom and he has shown that over the course of this season with Newcastle. The Magpies have struggled up front in recent years with the likes of Gayle, Slimani, Perez and Joselu failing to live up to their potential. But Rondon has changed that with 12 goals and a burgeoning partnership with both Perez and new signing Almiron. West Brom aren’t coming straight back to the Premier League so I would expect Rondon to stay on Tyneside if he was given the option.
