Midfield

Joao Moutinho (Wolves, Undisclosed)

We don’t see things like the Wolves project too often. They have come up from the Premier League with a plan and an identity that they have stuck to and even expanded! Moutinho has been a key cog in that expansion, as he as sat in the middle of the park with Neves and provided a touch of class to proceedings. However much they spent, it was totally worth it.

James Maddison (Leicester City, £25m)

We see so many young promising talents come up from the Championship and fail to make the grade in the top league! Maddison looked like he was born to it from the very first game, he has stepped up his game to compliment the talents of Vardy and Leicester’s style of play while making it look easy. He has made a few mistakes, but he’s 22 and they will disappear, while he will be a much sought-after talent for many years!

Jefferson Lerma (Bournemouth, Undisclosed)

Bournemouth had another crazy year of ups and downs. The have reached heady heights in the top half of the table before crashing to long stretches without a win. They have beaten Chelsea 4-0 and lost 1-0 to Fulham. They need steel in the midfield and Lerma has added some. Clearly not enough given that Fulham result, but it’s a start and Bournemouth need him to give even more next year if they want to become a consistent side that can push further up the table.
