What comes next is the role Mike Phelan was up for prior to his enrolment in the assistant coach position, the technical director opening.

Recent reports coming from the Old Trafford camp has another old boy up for the job, Darren Fletcher. The news of him and the possibility of taking up the role has not been met with open arms. One of the reasons for this is his inexperience in the role.

The other reason, there are other more qualified out there who could handle the responsibility. Ole is inexperienced enough. Having two inexperienced men working together at this level could be detrimental to the new cause and restructuring.

Maybe all are unaware of the technical director post. Thankfully, if he gets it he will not be dealing with the transfers in and out of the club. More a middle man who keeps everything together between the manager and hierarchy.

This will be as big a wildcard as making Ole Gunnar the manager of the club.
