The Republic of Ireland man was a hero at Brighton for four and a half years with the club.

Before they enjoyed the Premier League after missing from the competition for 34-years, the Seagulls were in all sorts of hot water.

Since appointing him as the boss, Brighton missed relegation from the Championship in 2014-15. He then did one better and took Brighton from being one of the worst teams to finishing the season in second place, earning an EPL playoff in 2015-16. They were successful and the club from Brighton joined the Premier League the following campaign.

Since being reintroduced to the prestigious English league, Brighton has been able to stay up for their third consecutive campaign thanks to this man. Sadly, the ending was not as elated for Hughton as it was for the club.

Possible replacements

It is said that Swansea boss, Graham Potter is the leading man to succeed the ex-Brighton man Chris Hughton. Other than the Swans’ boss, no other successor has been named or mentioned for the vacancy.
