Anfield witnessed the biggest comeback in its history as Klopp’s men pulled off an incredible rally over the stunned Catalan giants.

Barcelona looked in control in the first leg as they grasped a 3-0 home victory but the story quickly changed as soon as they got to Anfield. Liverpool were all over the Spaniards from the very get-go, they didn’t give Barca the chance to breathe.

Divock Origi gave Liverpool the breath of life as he slotted home the first goal in the seventh minute. Liverpool continued to press, and win every challenge as Barca looked lifeless. Off-the-bench Georginio Wijnaldum scored Liverpool’s second as he did not start the game.

Though he wasn’t done just yet, Wijnaldum smashed home a thumping header from a Shaqiri cross (who should be a part of the starting Xl in my opinion). Now it was tied 3-3 on aggregate Liverpool looked sure that they were gonna advanced to the finals.

Then came the last bullet, Barca were not ready for an Alexander-Arnold clever corner kick and were beaten to the ball Divock Origi, who slotted home Liverpool’s ticket to the Champions League Finals. In this bit, we will discuss Liverpool’s strengths and Barcelona’s mishaps and share a personal opinion on this topic.

Lucas Donnaperna: Liverpool were hungry from the start.

The biggest key to this game was Liverpool’s intensity and hunger for the ball. You can tell that they were playing to win and winning was the only possible outcome.

When your down in a series it’s quintessential that you score early for confidence reasons and mathematical reasons (Just like how we saw with Manchester United vs PSG).

Liverpool rode the momentum and intensity throughout the game which is very difficult especially when you are down by a considerable amount. Shaqiri was fabulous and provided the threat that Mo Salah was unable to do sitting in the stands.

Alexander-Arnold was the mastermind in the back-line as he made the clever passes to set up his teammates and played the correct balls. A pretty good performance from all players in the Liverpool team and a well deserved final spot.
