For a few seasons now, Abdoulaye Doucoure has quietly been one of the Premier League’s most consistent performers in central midfield.

Alongside Etienne Capoue, the two have formed a solid, physical presence for Watford. One of the best box-to-box players in the league, Doucoure is as comfortable making a goal-saving tackle as he is finishing off one of his side’s counter-attacks.

He seems to always be there for a cutback at the top of the box and has provided a solid return with his five goals and six assists. In recent months, the Frenchman has been open about his desire to play for a Champions League club, and his play so far this season has done nothing to say he isn’t ready for that jump.
