Like Brooks, James Maddison’s excellent season in The Championship had caught the eye of a few Premier League teams.

Leicester were the ones who eventually ended up signing Maddison from Norwich for a fee of around 22 million pounds. It may have seemed like quite a lot at the time, but just ten months on it looks like an absolute bargain.

Maddison hit the ground running straight away, looking completely at home in the Premier League. His form dipped a little over winter, but he looks back to his best since Brendan Rodgers took over.

He has seven goals (three direct from free kicks) and six assists to his name this season, and it surely won’t be long until he makes his full England debut.

£22 million well spent.
