He has been Arsenal’s standout performer since the turn of the year, but Juventus-bound Aaron Ramsey picked up a hamstring injury against Napoli. Will he play for the Gunners ever again?
For over a decade now, Aaron Ramsey has suited up in the Arsenal red and white and left his heart out on the pitch. The Welsh midfielder has been a model professional throughout his career, and that has become obvious in recent months, as he has played his heart and soul out for Arsenal despite already signing a pre-contract agreement to join Juventus in the summer. His performances have been sublime, and his re-introduction to the starting XI has been a large reason for Arsenal’s significant up-turn in form, which now has them sitting in 4th in the league.
I really, really hope we see Aaron Ramsey again in an Arsenal shirt. His hamstrings tend not to be the most reliable, best to get him off now and keep him safe for the run-in.

Ramsey is certainly among the best midfielders in the Premier League, and his qualities will be welcomed in Turin and desperately missed at the Emirates.
On Thursday night in the Europa League quarter-final second leg between Napoli and Arsenal at the Stadio San Paolo, Ramsey pulled up with a clear hamstring injury, and could not continue, as Henrikh Mkhitaryan replaced him. The first thought that surely popped into the heads of most Arsenal fans was “Is he going to play for us ever again?”. Well, the answer seems to be maybe.
Emery says Ramsey is out for 2-3 weeks with a hamstring problem. Worst case scenario would mean he could only potentially feature in the final PL game of the season (and then the EL final if Arsenal get there). Story to follow.

Ramsey is set to miss 2 to 3 weeks, and with the top 4 race getting extremely tight, he will be sorely missed. However, that does mean he still has the chance to return for the Europa League final should they qualify for it, but it does seem that Ramsey will not play at the Emirates Stadium in an Arsenal shirt ever again. It’s a relatively sad end for a player that many consider to be an Arsenal legend, but if he can cap off his Gunners career with a Europa League triumph, it would be a win-win for everybody.
The Gunners will face Valencia in the Europa League semi-finals, with the fixtures taking place on May 2nd and May 9th. With Chelsea and Frankfurt playing on the other side of the bracket, Unai Emery’s men will fancy their chances to win it all.
