Chris Hughton has watched Brighton and Hove Albion lose their last four league games, it’s a run that has put them in danger of being relegated.

Chris Hughton is the bookies favourite to be the next Premier League manager to get the sack, priced at 7/1. Brighton are in free fall, the relegation picture took another twist this week when the Seagulls lost again. Brighton‘s rock steady defence looks like it was built on sand. The club is leaking goals and the reliable Glenn Murray can’t find the target at the other end of the pitch.

Brighton had good back-to-back wins in March, against rivals Crystal Palace and Millwall in the FA Cup quarterfinal. Since then they have lost five games in all competitions without scoring a single goal. A heavy 5-0 defeat at home to Bournemouth preceded another relegation battle. Cardiff City were the opponents, and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and Sean Morrison scored the goals as Neil Warnock‘s side to put pressure on the Brighton.

The Seagulls have five games to save their Top Flight status, but the fixture list is brutal. It’s difficult to see where Hughton can engineer a winning game plan, especially as the club can’t find the back-of-the-net. Brighton are on the road for their next two games, at Wolves and Spurs. Newcastle arrives at the Amex Stadium before the Seagulls travel back to North London to face Arsenal. If Brighton’s fixture run wasn’t bad enough, Manchester City arrives on the South Coast for the final game of the season.

The season finale could be another one to remember. Both Brighton and City could be desperate for three points to avoid relegation or win the league title, respectively. Audiences around the world will track the highs and lows of a dramatic end to a fascinating Premier League campaign.
