During the time the Manchester side took on the Parisians, there was this sense of self-belief and belief in the next man.

United has not done so well since their memorable night in Paris. What’s been most notably absent from the United dressing room is the good moral in the team. Silly errors on the field have led to troublesome moments and evidently, goals.

United got knocked back down to sixth place in the race for a Champions League place – this after the Matchday 34 fixtures concluded. Arsenal’s victory was the cause of this. The difference between sitting fourth and sixth place in the Premier League standings can be a real denting feeling ere having to take on one of the favourites of the tournament.

Making matters even worse for the travelling side, the last cup fixture they were on the road for, they lost and exited the FA Cup at the hands of underdogs, Wolves.

What has not aided in this time are the countless injuries and endless rumours of the star players being linked with some of the top clubs in Europe. They take on the La Liga leaders and soon to be champions of the Spanish league. They must somehow boost their moral to overcome this meeting.
