There’s not much to say about a team who is on route to one of the best endings to the campaign, compared to any team in Europe’s top five leagues.

Not that the Citizens need a boost but they were fortunate enough to receive one afore their meeting with Tottenham on Tuesday night. The hitman Sergio Aguero is available for selection and was involved in training.

More from Champions League

Englishman Fabian Delph was also pictured back in training and looks as if he is ready for the picking. Recent injury concerns, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kyle Walker, will face late fitness tests, making Delph’s return something of perfect timing.

Guardiola’s run since the turn of the year has been nothing short of breathtaking. They’ve now won 19 of their last 22 outings since January. Over two legs versus Schalke, they lost their first fixture of the calendar year. The only stat standing against City? They’ve lost all four of their only meetings against English opposition in the tournament.

The blues of Manchester return to action after beating Brighton 1-0 and booked a place in the final of the FA Cup. This always gives City the edge over any team they face. They are used to these crunch times, however, this is the one hurdle Pep has been unable to over jump with City.

Pep on their quadripartite chances:

"Surviving is a miracle. It’s nice to be there. Nobody has done it [won the quadruple], so why can we do it? It is almost impossible to achieve everything – that is the truth. I don’t know how fresh we are in our legs and in our minds. In the FA Cup we could have been better. The stadium is what it is, the supporters support the team more than ever in the Champions League. It’s up to us how we handle it. We have to know how to handle the situations, if we don’t that’s because we are not prepared to go through.  (via BBC)"

dark. Next. Does Arsenal need to move on from Welbeck?

City does head into this one as favourites, because of them being the second favourites to take the Champions League trophy. Nevertheless, Guardiola believes Mauricio is far off the mark, claiming they can take all the trophies this season. Humble Pep trying to pull a fast one, but Mauricio’s not having it this time.
