Games in hand mean extra Premier League action. Two matches kickoff later this evening to start the midweek madness.

Matchday 33 catchup episodes are the first to take place of the six fixtures meant to be played out this weekend. Man United’s trip to Wolverhampton presents itself as the paper view of the day. The other should be a one-sided affair. The latter is a match that sees Watford take on bottom dwellers, Fulham.

Wolves vs. Man United

The Wanderers stands in the way of United and a top-four spot. United, on the other hand, blocks the home sides chances of European football. Both teams had poor performances over the weekend past they would like to forget.

Man United’s slender 2-1 win over Watford was not exactly how Ole saw his first day as the permanent manager go. Inside the Theatre of Dreams, the Manchester side was second best for most of the game. Any approach like they displayed over the weekend will see them drop points at this difficult venue.

A win sees them leap two places into third in the Premier League standings. Also causing the three top-four contenders, Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea to drop lower in the order, respectively. One point separates the powerhouses of England, making for one crazy ending to the 2018-2019 campaign.

Nuno’s Wolves still lead the pack outside of the top six. They must win with Watford the favourites to take all the points in their meeting with Fulham. One point between them and Watford and only two points disconnects 7th Place (Wolves) and 11th place (West Ham). They will also want to get back to winning ways after a terrible defeat to Burnley prior to this match.

Player problems for the two

Man United’s still missing a mass of players due to injury. One player who might not feature even though he is fit is Ander Herrera. He has been reported to have signed a pre-contract agreement with Paris side, PSG. He was poor over the weekend against Watford. Maybe Ole will be getting his United side use to life without Ander.

Watford vs. Fulham

Should be pretty straightforward for the Hornets later this evening when they welcome Fulham to Vicarage Road. Fulham’s Premier League life is as good as over. They are playing for pride and that’s all Scott Parker has left to play for.

The Craven Cottages have lost eight out of eight ahead of this one. There’s been little to no games where they haven’t conceded two or more goals in a match. If Fulham pulls off a shocker, their three points will be nothing more than consolation points. The Hornets have more to play for, giving us the impression they will work harder for the three and the London side will take the loss laying down.

Player talks

Daryl Janmaat might be the only player with a recent injury for Watford, however, the side should see many changes with the FA Cup approaching over the upcoming weekend. The visitors biggest asset could be set to miss all the action. Aleksandar Mitrovic is still a major doubt for his club after missing the weekend’s loss to Man City.
