We power ranked the top 10 centre-forwards in the Premier League based on statistical data.

As the modern game has developed, so too has the role of the striker. Forwards are now expected to do much more than just score goals, and teams have started to pay exorbitant sums of money for promising young attackers. As the most competitive league in the world, the Premier League plays host to many talented strikers, and this season is no different, with players like Sergio Aguero and Harry Kane still lighting up the scoring tables for their teams. Today, I will be taking a look at all the Strikers of the Premier League and examining the most impressive players so far this season.

For more information about how the rating is created, please scroll to the end.

Using per-90 minute data from whoscored.com, I created an analytical rating system for players in each position in the Premier League. The rating uses a variety of metrics (almost all event data) and compares these players to others in the same position. The players have been divided into six positional groupings (Goalkeepers, Fullbacks, Center Backs, Central/Holding Midfielders, Attacking Midfielders/Wingers, Strikers). The rating is constructed such that the maximum possible rating is 100, the minimum is 0, and an average player will have a rating of 50. Players must have played at least 40% of their teams’ minutes so far this season to be eligible. These rankings are completely based off the numbers – and only take into consideration this season’s performances.
