FA Cup: Jota believes Wolves can beat Manchester United
By John Wozniak
Has the FA Cup lost its Magic? Wolves and Manchester United fans will create a fantastic atmosphere on Saturday evening. Can Scott McTominay make an impact?
Opinion
Wolves impressed me with the way they handled themselves at Stamford Bridge last weekend. Eden Hazard produced something special to prevent Nuno Espírito Santo’s side from registering the double over Chelsea, but Wolves stood firm to pick up a valuable point. Wolves and Watford will go toe-to-toe for a seventh league place finish. It’s refreshing to see different clubs mixing it up with the established teams.
The visit of Manchester United will provide Wolves with a good test, and the world of football will be watching with interest. FA Cup football has a different feel, and a Wolves win will send out a message to the competition’s remaining teams. Jota and Raúl Jimenez will test United’s back four, but they must be clinical if chances come their way.
Manchester United look revitalised under Ole. Injuries plague the Red Devils, but the United have a big squad. Scott McTominay has impressed in the centre of midfield, his value could rise with another good performance, it will be a good test for the 22-year-old if he’s selected for Saturday’s clash at Molineux. Solskjaer is credited with recreating the buzz around Old Trafford, their fans will expect to advance on to the semi-finals.
We should expect a competitive game of football. Wolves, with the home advantage will fancy their chances. There is, of course, the possibility of an all Manchester affair in the semi-final. Who says the FA Cup has lost its magic?
Wolves are winning over the neutrals with their positive approach to the game. There will be a party or two in the West Midlands if Wolves reach the next round.
