FA Cup: Jota believes Wolves can beat Manchester United
By John Wozniak
A sellout crowd will turn out at Molineux as Wolves take on Manchester United in the FA Cup quarter-finals. A trip to Wembley for the semi-finals awaits the winner. Confidence is high for the hosts and Diogo Jota believes that home advantage is key for Wolves.
Wolves deserve to be in the conversation of this season‘s Premier League success stories. Nuno Espírito Santo has done a fantastic job with a side capable of competing with the best teams in the league. The FA Cup provides the winners with a route into the group stages of the Europa League, that would be a fantastic achievement for Wolves. Manchester United also have aspirations of thier own.
Wolves held their nerve at Stamford Bridge last weekend to secure a point, they can shine once more in the FA Cup, this time against Manchester United. This is the first time that Wolves have met Premier League opposition since their tremendous 2-1 victory against Liverpool in the third round.
Diogo Jota believes that Wolves has what it takes to reach the semi-finals, he spoke to the official club website.
"One of the reasons I came here was top play in big cup matches against teams like Manchester United. It’s an important stage now and we know it’s a big game, but no different from the one we had last week against ChelseaWe’ve had success against the big teams. We know we can go out there and win the game, but we also know how hard it will be. We know we will have to be at our best to get to the semi-finals. Fortunately, it’s at home and we can have the support of our fans, which will be an important factor (via wolves.co.uk)."
United come into this game looking to bounce back from their 2-0 defeat to Arsenal. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been the talk of Old Trafford, he’s taken the Red Devils to another level since arriving back at the club in December. Solskjaer masterminded United’s 3-1 win in Paris to advance to the next stages of the Champions League, a result that Wolves will be all too aware of. Several bookmakers price United at 5/4 favourites for the game.
