Is it just me or have the people already forgotten Liverpool were the previous runners-up in the Champions League last season?

Liverpool keeps their third place in the Champions League Power Ranking. They didn’t play too good, neither did they play too bad. But having scored three goals away from home inside the Allianz Arena puts them on the bus, next to their rivals on route to the next stop, the final eight.

Sadio Mane was the hero and like United’s forward Lukaku, as well as City forward, Raheem Sterling, he scored a brace in back-to-back games. Klopp’s charges see him take out the team who beat him in the finals, years back when both him and Pep were involved in the Champions League Final with Dortmund and Bayern Munich.

Funny thing about Klopp’s victory, Liverpool scored all four goals but the scoreline read 3-1. But this does show how well Liverpool kept Munich to two shots on target for the one encounter and no shots on target in the other.
