This game epitomized what the weekend was about. First, it seemed there was no such thing as home ground advantage and then turned out to be the weekend of the comeback kings.

Rafa and his men make it five out of five at home after a well-orchestrated comeback over Everton on Saturday afternoon. Everton was well on their way to a victory when they went into the break by a two-goal lead thanks to Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison, sequentially.

After the break, a different set of teams walked onto St. James Park’s pitch. A goal by the reliable Salomón Rondon in the 61st minute and then a quick, five-minute brace by Toon hero Ayoze Peréz in the 81st and 84th minute of the game.

Everton loses and Newcastle wins… Rafa still a thorn in the Merseyside’s backside. Everton struggles again and steers themselves further away from a Europa League spot while Newcastle climbs the table to 13th.

Man City 3-1 Watford

When you look at the scoreline it doesn’t do justice to what happened in the game. In one way, how Pep’s men weren’t up before the end of the first half with so many opportunities went begging, no one can say what happened.

However, this was the case and all four goals came in the second half. The one scored by Gerard Deulofeu was nothing but a consolation goal. Raheem Sterling‘s treble was worthy of a point a goal. Sterling to Sergio Aguero; “Whatever you can do, I can do too”.

City reclaimed their first place and went up by four points but it only lasted for 24 hours. Title chasers Liverpool were equally as good in their quest. Watford resisted well in their efforts but their FA Cup aspirations appear bigger when looking at the team selection who faced Man City.

Gracia confirmed a while back they are comfortable just where they are. So it comes as no surprise, their tactics over the weekend.
