Liverpool versus Burnley is a fixture with plenty at stake for both teams. Liverpool could start the game four points adrift of Manchester City. It’s not quite panic stations for the Reds. Their quest for a first league title in the Premier League era means they must match or better City‘s results to remain in contention.

Opinions sway between which team is under the most pressure at the top of the league, Liverpool or City. Both teams have 27 points available to them. City head into gameweek 30 with a one-point advantage.  Nine wins is a tall order for any team but Jürgen Klopp has a plan – to win football games.

"The plan is clear: we have to win football games. Manchester City play on Saturday, so we will know the result before we start so there is no reason to make a big fuss. We are in a position we like to be in, it is not a problem. We wanted to be in a position to fight for the top spot in the league and we are still in it and that is all we need to be positive and optimistic (via bbc.co.uk)"

Liverpool are clear favourites to win on Sunday, their form at Anfield has been good, and the Reds have won four of the last six meetings against Burnley. The Clarets come into the game on the back of two defeats. Sean Dyche has done a fantastic job at Turf Moor, but the Burnley manager is under pressure to keep his side in the Top Flight.

Premier League survival is a real possibility for the Clarets, they are five points ahead of Cardiff City, in 18th place. Burnley’s Premier League run-in is challenging,  they still have to play Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal. Liverpool’s defence has been unbreachable of late, an early Burnley goal could unsettle the Anfield faithful.

The Burnley fans haven’t had a great deal to shout about this season. Recent results against Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur should give the Turf Moor faithful plenty of confidence in the league run-in.
