This game can certainly stack right at the top for the game of the season. Unlucky there had to be a winner and a loser with United and the Saints pulling out top draw stuff in this one.

Besides the scoreline being the highest of the weekend and being the best-contested match, a couple of the goals that were scored were some of the best from the weekend, if not the season. It was truly a meeting to savour, and most importantly, a terrific job by Southampton to take the game to United.

With this being said, you’d think the Saints were the third-placed team here. But it’s United who overcame the biggest problems and setbacks. They played the game with many absentees and reclaimed fourth place in the Premier League table at the right time.
