Chelsea will take a comfortable lead into the second leg, that’s if they play to their strengths. Kiev don’t possess the same quality as the English Premier League side.

Opinions

Kiev have plenty of experience in European football, they’ve already played Ajax in this season’s Champions League qualifier, when they eventually lost 3-1 on aggregate. The trip to Stamford Bridge will be a huge test for Khatskevich’s side. A good performance by Tsygankov might attract the attention of several European scouts.

Eden Hazard will orchestrate Chelsea‘s forward line. The Belgian international is unplayable when he‘s on form. Kiev will have to decide whether they man mark the Chelsea No.10.

Olivier Giroud has scored six times in this season‘s competition. The Frenchman is great value at 28/1 to score a hat-trick. It could be a busy night for Kiev goalkeeper, Denys Boyko.

The hosts have won seven of their last Europa League matches at Stamford Bridge, expect them to win by at least three goals in the first leg.

Chelsea should not underestimate Kiev’s European adventure, especially in light of the country’s domestic troubles. It should be a comfortable night for Sarri’s men, but stranger things have happened in European football, just ask Ajax.

Sarri spoke to the media about his side’s chances, he believes the Blues are good enough to advance to the Round of 8.

"My team is good enough to win at home and to win away. We know very well the two matches will be difficult, they are a good team, physical, young, dangerous on the counter-attack because they have two very fast wingers so we need two good performances, but our target is to play the same football at home and away (via chelseafc.com)."

The Chelsea squad are capable of living up to their tag as the favourites in the competition. The big name players can lead the club to European glory once more. Chelsea’s season has been turbulent but there’s still plenty to play for.
