Team news
The hosts head into the game with better fortune as key figures return to action. After scoring six goals over two games, Howe’s men hassles started out in front of goal. Over their last four games, they’ve only managed to score two goals, with two of the four ending without a goal being scored be his Cherries.
With Callum Wilson set to return and Brooks also back in contention for a starting place, there is a better feel for the home side’s attack. The team is fit and they play at home, so a bit of good fortune in the midst of a challenge from the Premier League champions.
Pep and his Man City side have been feeling the effects of contending on all four fronts. Their midweek meeting with West Ham had some significant injuries and it notably affected their gameplay.
After a few minor tight legs following their EFL Cup winnings, Man City was short of staff when they took on West Ham. Some of those absent returns for Pep as in today’s tie. John Stones and Gabriel Jesus are back in the squad.
The Citizens haven’t scored a goal from open play for 180 minutes since their Champions League comeback. An unfamiliar stat for the highest scoring club in Europe’s top leagues.
