Matchweek 29 gets underway on Saturday when Spurs host Arsenal in the North London derby. Both Sides are in a battle to secure Champions League football, it’s a race that includes a resurgent Manchester United.

North London Derby – A Grudge Match

This is a fixture with plenty of history, it’s also the first of several Premier League grudge matches this weekend.

The 1991 FA Cup semi-final stands out when Spurs won 3-1 and the unfortunate Paul Gascoigne left Wembley on a stretcher. Saturday‘s game is the third meeting between these two sides in as many months. The Gunners won the reverse fixture 4-2. Spurs took the spoils in the League Cup two weeks later, winning 2-0 at The Emirates.

10 league games remain, and 30 points are up for grabs. It’s all to play for in what is turning out to be another fantastic season in the Top Flight. Both Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have to find a level of consistency that will secure them Champions League football.

Spurs have two tough away games to Liverpool and Manchester City, respectively. Arsenal‘s run-in looks a lot easier, on paper at least. The Gunners face another acid test next week when they host Manchester United.
