It was a worrying affair for the visitors Man United when they travelled to Selhurst Park. But any thought of United not having a full 22-man squad was laid abruptly to bed.

I’m sorry, but if the United board are still crunching numbers while handing Ole a probation period, then I don’t know what more this man must do to make them see he is the right man for the job. Ole continues his undefeated run in the English Premier League. He is now the only United manager to go and win eight away games.

If that’s not a convincing chip, it looks as if he will have to bring the Premier League title in as a bargaining chip as well this season. 14 games won and one defeat endured. That’s a brief description of United’s fortune over the past few months under the stewardship of caretaker boss, Ole.

Game recap

Selhurst Park is such a difficult place to go and claim three points, or one for that matter. The stadium’s smaller than others, the crowds close to the sidelines and always intimidating the opponents on the day.

With this being said and that United had a list of 10 injuries it made it hard to imagine a United win was on the way. However, changes were made and the players taking up the next one’s role, did so almost to perfection.

The first goal of the game came in the 33rd minute of the first half and was scored by Romelu Lukaku. The striker sent his side into the second half with all the moment to go and get a second after the next kickoff from the centre circle. Three goals scored after the second half initiated. Lukaku added his second to get United up by two but was cancelled out shortly by one when Joel Ward struck back in the 66th minute.

United later restored their two-goal advantage through captain, Ashley Young. His goal came in the 83rd minute, squashing any notion of a comeback for Crystal Palace. The standout player in this one was United youngster, Scott McTominay. Slotted in seamlessly in the absence of others.

Onto the next for United

United has a favourable fixture when they travel to St. Mary’s over the weekend. They trail by one point behind Arsenal in 5th place, in the English Premier League table. The next real obstacle comes in the Champions League next week when they travel to Paris.

Crystal Palace can only be kicking themselves after this results. Roy made a fair statement that the best team won on the night, which was the truth. But his team must improve at home if they are trying to avoid getting involved with the relegation battle.

dark. Next. Would United supporters swap Lukaku for Icardi

Their two fantastic wins afore the United loss will amount to nothing if they don’t get a lot more consistent. They face Burnley in a fitting fight to stay away from the bottom tenants. They sit in 14th place and equal on points (30) with the team they face next, Burnley (15th place).
