Trent Alexander-Arnold returned to the Liverpool starting XI with a fantastic performance as five star Liverpool thumped Watford. Liverpool’s wingbacks had a hand in all five of their goals. Any thoughts of a Liverpool slump were put to bed, as the Red Men returned to form with a goal fest.

Liverpool came into the fixture on the back of a poor run of form by their standards, with two wins and four draws in their last six. A clean sheet in three previous games. Watford arrived at Anfield unbeaten in four games, with three wins on the bounce in all competitions.

Jurgen Klopp selected Divock Origi to spearhead the Liverpool attack alongside Mane and Mo Salah in a 4-3-3 formation with Origi on the left-hand side of the attack. James Milner replaced Jordan Henderson in midfield. Klopp spoke to the media, justifying Origi’s selection.

"It makes sense. Div deserves it, like all the others we could have chosen would have deserved it because the training attitude is brilliant. via Liverpool Echo"
