Man City gets their first taste of Premier League action since two weeks back when they beat Everton during the midweek Matchday 27 clash. This time they play a different West Ham side who could come away with something.

Manuel Pellegrini gets a shot at his old club for the second and last time this season. He will be seeking three points and looking to play the revenge card on Pep and his Man City side. It’s been a long wait for Pellegrini before returning to the club he brought a Premier League title to.

Sacked and replaced by the genius he faces tonight, Pep Guardiola. The sad reality is… They meet this City team at the wrong time of the season. The men in blue are recently one piece of silverware heavier, after taking the Carabao Cup over the weekend past.

They welcome West Ham with buckets full of confidence after a string of awesome results. Although, the same can be said for the Hammers on route to the Etihad Stadium. They’ve also conjured up some positive results and look the team they supposed to be before their poor form at the start of the season.

Pep’s men play in hope Watford’s hot form can make a dent in Liverpool’s title hopes, while taking over the summit of the table with a win against the Hammers tonight. The London club’s quest for a Europa spot is still on, so the three points are just as important to the happy travellers as it is for the champions.

Team news

Pep has been forced into making subs (probably the only reason why it’s a good time for Manuel Pellegrini to meet his old side) after big injuries hit the squad the weekend. City played out 120 minutes of football, so Guardiola will be thinking hard about his team selection.

Wouldn’t be surprised if we saw Raheem Sterling playing centreback and then he went on to score a hat trick or something. Pep’s that type of manager! Other players missing is defender John Stone and striker Gabriel Jesus. Shame for Man City.

The visiting team comes with their luck reversed compared to the hosts. They welcome back a list of players who are ready for selection. West Ham fans are waiting impatiently to see the dynamic three of, Marko ArnautovicFelipe Anderson and Manuel Lanzini.

The game is set up to be one for the books in what already is one of the best title-challenges there’s been in recent years.
