English Premier League: Newcastle and Burnley in a relegation rumble
Sean Dyche is the eight-game unbeaten man. What a run and what a turnaround! Burnley looked sure to be heading done and heading for the Championship. Thanks to better displays and a resurgent of the old Burnley, Dyche’s chances of staying up is pretty good.
Worryingly enough for the Clarets manager, he hasn’t seen any joy in this clash for the past two meetings. A loss in the reverse game and a draw in the last meeting at the end of last season is a stat they will want to change.
It will be interesting to see who the manager starts in this fixture after the return of two influential players, Robbie Brady and Joey Berg Gudmundsson. The club reported no late injury scares so they could very well start tonight, being the freshest of the lot.
Burnley will struggle in front of goal against Newcastle. The hosts have conceded 14 goals fewer than them and are one of the best defensive sides outside of the top six. Hard work is written all over it. No other side except Wolves shares the same record in goals conceded, making them the best two teams defensively outside of the top six.
Only one change expected to be made and that’s Joey Gudmundsson to come in from the start.
