Impeccable enforcement by the only London club in the Champions League competition. Tottenham was not only the best team from England but the best in Europe for the first round.

Afore the knockout phase commenced, Spurs were mooted to take the L. However, Spurs lined up, they played, and then destroyed Dortmund. There were few scares in the early stages for Mauricio’s Lilywhites. Yet, they did not fold and dismantled BVB’s defence on three occasions.

A three-goal advantage on route to Germany is worthy of a spot at number one. To add to Tottenham’s advances, Harry Kane could make a return for the second leg. A well-deserved first place showing by the team ranked third in the English Premier League. Through them, England stole the show.
