Matchweek 27 kicks off this week! Here are some tips and tricks to help you succeed in FPL this time around.

The first blank FPL Gameweek (BGW) of the season is here as Man City and Chelsea meet in the Carabao Cup just a week after City put Chelsea to the sword in the league. Neither of the finalists or their supposed opponents Everton and Brighton will have a match this week. I hope you have prepared! We also know the following about the upcoming BGWs/DGWs:

BGW31

Only the following matches will take place in 31

Bournemouth vs Newcastle

Burnley vs Leicester

West Ham vs Huddersfield

Fulham vs Liverpool

Everton vs Chelsea

BGW33

Only the following matches will take place in 33

Bournemouth vs Burnley

Chelsea vs West Ham

Everton vs Arsenal

Huddersfield vs Leicester

Southampton vs Liverpool

We also know that the Wolves vs Man United will definitely be postponed in this week because they face each other in the cup, meaning one of them is guaranteed to make the semi-finals.

We’re still not certain when the doubles will take place, but any team not playing in either of those weeks will have a double at some point (likely GW32 and/or GW35), not forgetting that the Chelsea vs Brighton has also been postponed without being rearranged.

Back to this week, and it will be a tough one with Man City and Chelsea not featuring, while Man United and Liverpool face off against each other. This could be the week to go for a differential like West Ham at home against hapless Fulham or Leicester entering a strong run of fixtures with Palace at home.

Or you can play it safe (ish) and pick an Arsenal player at home against Southampton, but we are back in European season and you’ll have to factor in how difficult their 2nd leg against BATE is on Thursday night.
