It was a FA Cup operation this weekend, forcing the inevitable removal of the English Premier League for a full week. But when there’s no EPL football may things happen off the pitch.
In the first of the FA Cup fixtures taking place this weekend, Friday Night Football involved Watford and a short trip to Loftus Road, where they took on Queens Park Rangers. Their trip was met with a fifth-round victory, so the EPL teams got off to a winning start.
All following the Hornets’ sting were equal to the asking and prosperous in their FA Cup journey. Only two teams of the English Premier League battle it out in Monday Night Football.
The Champions League returns afore the English Premier League this week. Two more English clubs are left to play in big fixtures, but when aren’t UCL ties big events. Those two are the current title contenders, Man City and Liverpool.
They square off against Schalke and Bayern Munich, respectfully. They followed by the Europa League Round of 32, second leg ties for Arsenal and Chelsea. Unai’s men having all the work to do and Chelsea, a laid back event at Stamford Bridge.
Then it’s back to Premier League action… YEAH!
