The next acid test sees the Redmen taking the short trip to Old Trafford. There’s seldom a dull moment when Manchester United and Liverpool go head-to-head.

Liverpool won the reverse fixture 3-1, thanks to goals from Sadio Mané and a brace from Xherdan Shaqiri. United have improved under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. A 2-0 defeat to Paris St. Germain is Solskjaer’s only defeat since being appointed as the caretaker manager.

United will test their bitter rivals, but they must match Liverpool’s high work rate, something they did not do under Jose Mourinho. There aren’t too many occasions where Manchester City fans cheer for United, but this game could be one. Liverpool is under enormous pressure to win their game-in-hand.
