How to make supporters hate a team on a massive high? You offer players such as Phil Jones and Chris Smalling new contracts at the club.

United go for their ninth game without defeat, when they travel to Craven Cottage to take on bottom feeders, Fulham. Before tomorrow, they have only dropped points on one occasion out of the eight games under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Since the Red Devils rise to prominence, arguably taking themselves back to being one of the top three, four, clubs in the English Premier League, they’ve been tying down their main assets. Players such as Anthony Martial finally penned his future after all the doubt of him staying at Old Trafford.

Even Marcus Rashford is on course to get a new deal in this time of pleasure. These two were definitely no-brainers.

These players mentioned are the future of the club and it makes all the sense in the world why their renewals were met with the United faithful cheering from England to Africa. However, the latest news of Phil Jones getting an improved, long-term deal was met with grief and agony.

Phil Jones new deal and United fans reaction (PRICELESS);

The English centre back has just penned a new deal keeping him for another 18 more months at Manchester United, running until the year 2023. He is delighted, the caretaker boss says he is delighted, but are the fans delighted?

I think not! Actually, they display they’re not!

United’s Twitter went into a frenzy once the news broke that Jones is a United boy for years to come and is “one for the future”. He joins his countryman and longtime partner Chris Smalling, who was offered a new deal a few months back.

Through all of their tweets, I feel their pain. Clearly, the United public demand somebody else, and rightfully so. Phil has had brilliant moments in Man United colours. However, he hasn’t had that United factor about him. That, and the fact he stays injured for the majority of his Devil’s career, there are a number of central men who could do the job over him.

Is it just me; or does Ole look as if he is not that pleased, doing the “smile you love your job” for the cameras look? In a time of great projection back to superiority, this was the worst move United could have made possible.
