Sergio Aguero: The best striker in the English Premier League – Arguably the best in the world
The debate could go on and on about who is the best striker in the English Premier League. Although, there’s been one man who’s always popped up since joining the best league in England.
Sergio Aguero takes the paper talks by storm after having a major hand in their victory over the weekend against top-six side, Arsenal. The Argentine shooter hit the target three times, completing his 10th hat trick in the English Premier League.
After busting the net on three occasions, Aguero’s taken his tally for the Premier League season to 14 goals. His now been directly involved in 20 of Man City’s 66 goals this season. This, and he’s only made 21 appearances in the league campaign due to injury and Pep’s heavy rotation of the City squad.
From the beginning, he has been Kun!
Kun Aguero has been in the mix of the best strikers season after season. Since wedding himself with the Blues of Manchester, the marriage has been nothing but fruitful for both, the club and player.
He has been at the club for eight years and not all has been smooth sailing, especially after the arrival of manager, Pep Guardiola. The Spaniard was reported for seasons running not to be a fan of the Man hero. Primarily, when Pep included Gabriel Jesus to the roster back in 2016.
This all counted in favour of a Sergio exit, but nothing progressed, leaving the striker to compete for more titles beyond his first. Thankfully, Aguero repaid Pep in the most extraordinary fashion possible. Winning him (Pep) his first Premier League title and Sergio’s third at the club.
What gives me the right to say his the best in the English Premier League?
Well, a number of things. Always scoring 20 goals, plus a season makes him one of the most prolific in front of goal. In search of his fourth EPL crown and his consecutive title is how he leads the line for them. Of all the strikers in the league, he has all the attributes of a lethal attacker.
His skill with the ball at his feet, his low centre of gravity that helps him ease past opponents. HIs speed, and once again the most prominent attribute of the Argentine, his goal-scoring ability. All these factors sit him at the table with the GIANTS who’ve run the fields in the English Premier League.
When he has the ball at his feet, you always get the feeling somethings going to happen. Hands down, Sergio Aguero will go down as one of the first Man City legends next to Vincent Kompany. Let’s see if he gets another three in their next tie vs. Everton.
