West Ham 1 Liverpool 1:

The Reds had a golden opportunity last week to extend their lead atop the Premier League table to a whopping 7 points. Instead, they drew to Leicester City and had a 2 point lead heading into their match against West Ham yesterday, following Manchester City’s win over Arsenal the day prior. Despite Sadio Mane giving Liverpool the lead in the 22nd minute (although on second look, James Milner looked offside on the play), Michael Antonio pulled West Ham back level just 6 minutes later and the match stayed deadlocked the rest of the way.

Back-to-back underwhelming performances from Klopp’s men is quite worrying, as the title race heats up and there really is no room for error. The gap in points between them and Manchester City has slipped from potentially being 7 points to being just 3 in the span of a week, and with Spurs lurking just 5 points back, this could be a title race for the ages. As for the Reds, they need to find a way to get healthy again and get their best players firing. Roberto Firmino has been disastrous of late whilst James Milner has been forced to play right-back.

If the Reds aren’t to capitulate in this run for the Premier League, they need to find a way to start winning the types of matches that they’ve failed to in recent weeks.
