The Premier League is back! Wait… It never left with us coming to the crucial double Matchdays of the English Premier League. Fun in abundance, I say as we gear up for Saturday Matchday 25.

The transfer window has just shut and I must admit, it was rather quiet and boring. Nonetheless, we did get to witness some outstanding and interesting moves between players and clubs. Thankfully, the English Premier League has some new faces and some potentially Premier League bangers, so the excitement to see if they hit the ground running is there, no denying.

Besides the attractive concepts of new players, we have what the EPL is the most exciting for. The title race, relegation battles, and fights for European spots. No lifelines now the window is locked and sealed, so it’s all about working with what you got and making it operate as a winning united.

Matchday 25 Saturday games

Tottenham vs. Newcastle
Everton vs. Wolves
Chelsea vs. Huddersfield
Brighton vs. Watford
Burnley vs. Southampton
Crystal Palace vs. Fulham
Cardiff City vs. Bournemouth

So what are the most compelling talking points?

  • Tottenham leads the way with Newcastle in a match they can start pressurising Pep’s Citizens.
  • Talking City, none of the teams racing the title race plays today. Man City’s conflict comes tomorrow and then the leaders Liverpool, the day thereafter.
  • Best three fixtures to look out for of the day (from best to worst); Everton and Wolves play in the match I rate should be the most entertaining of them all. Then Crystal Palace and Fulham. Then the final one of the three, Brighton’s hosting of Watford at the Falmer Stadium.
  • Crystal Palace and Fulham participate in yet another London derby, but not only a derby for bragging rights, but a direct duel to steer clear of relegation for the two. Palace plays to stay out of the drop zone, while the Bluebirds attempt to escape it.

Matchday 25 Saturday games

Tottenham 1-0 Newcastle
Everton 1-3 Wolves
Chelsea 3-0 Huddersfield
Brighton 1-0 Watford
Burnley 1-2 Southampton
Crystal Palace 4-3 Fulham
Cardiff City 1-3 Bournemouth

  • Another fixture with the same situation, regarding what’s at stake for those taking part. A straight brawl to beat the drop, when Burnley welcomes Southampton in a 16th versus 17th battle. The Eagles, Saints, and the Clarets sit on the same points (3) in that particular order starting from 15th place.
  • Bournemouth is on a run of four games without defeat. Could be easy picking with their opponents being Cardiff.
  • Easiest fixture to predicted – Chelsea’s travels to Huddersfield. The club who’s become the English Premier League point feeder is Huddersfield. Yes, I know… Even if Chelsea got their backside handed to them in a cherry red Vitality bag, it’s still the easiest to predict.

Most EXCITING talking point!

Newcastle, Wolves, Chelsea, Huddersfield, Brighton, Burnley, Palace, Fulham, Cardiff, and Bournemouth have new faces that could feature today and I can’t wait to see them during their first 90 minutes for their clubs.
