Chelsea: Maurizio Sarri gives his players a piece of his mind after Bournemouth humiliation

It just was a sad thing to witness for anybody. Chelsea’s run of games epitomized in one fixture. What went wrong for the Blues? Long list. What went right? Bournemouth!

Eddie Howe is walking around with a bounce in his step and kick in his stride today. After having one of the worst runs this season when losing key players before last night, the Cherries have now done an outstanding job on the bounce back.

While the Vitality Stadium remains a buzz for the Cherries, Chelsea enjoys a bad run of games in the English Premier League. Sarri has been expressive of late, saying he has been displeased with the attitude of his Chelsea side.

After the EFL Cup victory, the impression was given the Stamford Bridge side was ready for whatever and they were going to start getting the results going in their favour. However, this was not the case in the last two fixtures.

A London derby and a loss to the team who sits in 10th place, who’s recently endured the pain of going four games without a win. This was meant to be a closer affair than the 4-0 scoreline at the end of the 90 minutes.

How to explain Chelsea in bullet points;

• Looked like they were playing under Antonio Conte again
• Gonzalo Higuain is the same as Radamel Falcao – Left Stamford Bridge already
• N’Golo Kante needs to be placed in his old role
• Jorginho proved to complete the most useless passes
• Sarri understands why Conte acted out against the club because Chelsea’s players run scared when threatened by the staff.

Last night’s talks had to happen

After the unpleasant display by Chelsea against Bournemouth and Arsenal, Sarri had a chat with his team in the dressing room missing all the press conference almost. In the talk, he had only included him and the team, with no coaching staff involved.

Whatever was said needed to be said, and was said in the right place. Yes, we can expect a whole conspiracy later that the atmosphere between the squad and the manager is currently suffering due to Sarri’s actions. But this is that tough love and a no-nonsense manager attitude needed at this club. There is no way the quality in Chelsea should not be getting over the line after a fabulous start to life this term.

They will say they were bullied by the man in charge but they need to grow a set and work harder. A collective effort of not acceptable was presented last night by Chelsea. A defeat by four goals was well deserved.
