A hot pursuit for one of Germany’s most promising youngsters in the game, Timo Werner. The chase so heated, a massive bill has been attached to the Germany international.

RB Leipzig and Liverpool rumoured to be involved in a transfer for one of the hottest prospects in world football today. Timo Werner is one of Germany’s most promising forwards and the whole of Europe knows about him.

The paper talks linking the player with an exit from Red Bull has not been subtle. Firstly, the player has denied to resigning with the club, placing his future firmly in his own hands. The club wants to have a better stance over their most prized possession and letting him run out his contract could be damaging to this game plan.

Due to the shift in strategy for RB Leipzig, they’ve slapped a massive price tag on the forward of £61 million. Too much? Nope! Worth every penny.

How many times in the near history have we seen players not renew their contracts and leave on a free? Emre Can, being one of the most noticeable of the group. Can’t blame the player, however. ‎Ralf Rangnick has not made it easy to negotiate with and caused mad scenes during one of the summer transfer windows including Liverpool and the Naby Keita tug of war.

Now… Who will grab the signature of Timo Werner?

Two teams always fighting over players’ John Hancocks are Liverpool and Bayern Munich. Although, it is understandable because of Klopp’s German style of football and Munich being the Germans they are.

The two have similar styles of football and will always require comparable players. Munich sits in the driver seat in this one and has one over the Reds, with first-team football almost certain for Werner. An ageing frontline and some fresh talent (especially if they’re German) is needed by the Bavarians.

Liverpool cannot offer this for Werner. What they can offer is a chance to play for one of the most exciting Anfield sides I’ve seen in the past 10 years. What could work heavily in favour of the Anfield side, is linking the German up with ex-teammate, Naby Keita. And may I remind you, the two thrived together at RB Leipzig.

Other clubs rivalling Liverpool and Bayern Munich are Barcelona, Real Madrid, Man City, PSG, and Juventus. These clubs have been thrown in the hat, but it has mostly only been about the Reds and the Bavarians being discussed with Werner’s name.

I say he could be a Reds player by the summer transfer window after the season concludes.
