Chelsea: Reasons why Maurizio Sarri is right and wrong for squad squash
You never going to get everybody on one side of the boat unless you Jose Mourinho or Antonio Conte. Mixed reviews regarding Sarri’s views on his Chelsea squad.
Why I’ve used Jose Mourinho as an example is because he is your usual suspect when chomping away at players. Jose was notorious for having a go at key players, blaming them for the lack of good results. Antonio Conte, similar story. The realm of his arrogance outweighed that of outspoken players.
Now we can all agree when each manager started throwing their toys out the cot, all was one side of the fence and felt the same way about each man. Now with Sarri going after his players in a press conference post their Arsenal loss, it has the crowd divided into two parts, fore and against.
Chelsea’s off the back of a no show when they went down by two goals to zero. Whoever witnessed the crucial London derby knew Maurizio was furious with his side’s display, which inevitably led to the two goals conceded and no damaged done on the other end of the pitch.

"“It seems we really struggle to get ourselves up for these games.“I’m really angry about the approach that we adopted today. You can find yourself in difficulties from time to time, but we need to react to those difficulties a lot better than we did today.“It was the same in our game against Tottenham [lost 3-1]. We thought we’d overcome that problem. I don’t mind losing, but I don’t like losing in this manner.”More from Premier LeagueBarcelona identify Newcastle star as Robert Lewandowski replacementArsenal injury news: Mikel Arteta confirms “rapid” attacker suffered injury“600 days” Fans make SHOCK Chelsea revelation – They really are poorArsenal transfer news: Mikel Arteta rivals Manchester United for wonderkidManchester United: Erik ten Hag pinpoints 4 players amid Brighton loss"
Yes, his Chelsea is a shadow of the team that kicked off the 2018/2019 season. This, what the manager has pointed out is, by all means, the right choice of words. Nevertheless, during a post-match interview? Come on Sarri… We’ve seen others crucified for these type of comments. Especially with the Stamford Bridge board, fans, and players.
They are “Notoriously BIG” for this. The Chelsea squad finds it easy to alienate their manager and see him get the boot. So why speak out? That’s purely based on frustration. I would too be frustrated. If you had a player who was fashioned as one of the best in the world, why’s he missing for big fixtures? One injury and never ever returned?
However, here are the reasons why Sarri’s got it wrong
First of all, if the players operating in your club are rated as the best in the world in their respective positions, why are they playing in new roles and underperforming? Yes, N’Golo Kante looked a real attacking threat in the early stages, but the man is the world’s best box-to-box midfielder.
He should be breaking up the play, eating up the opposition and releasing Jorginho, who should be leading in assists. Hazard as a false 9? Not for me. Chelsea has the resources and the will to attract players. What are they doing going for Olivier Giroud and working with Morata?
It’s a hot mess and all are to blame. From team selection to the character accommodated by the personnel. Your big names rise to the occasion, not hide out and blame the manager. All should be held accountable and take these type of loses in their stride. Simply time, patience, understanding and the right attitude from all involved, and we have Chelsea back and killing it on the pitch.
More news breakings as reports suggest crunch talks involving Sarri and the squad. Already calls of his time could be up at Stamford Bridge… Too early for this!
