A straight swap for Huddersfield by the looks of things. One German in for the other German, who was put out because of their last-place standings on the Premier League table.

It’s been exactly a week and a defeat since Huddersfield broke up with David Wagner. The team who place at the very bottom of the pit after Matchday 23 has 42 points left to play for in the 2018/2019 campaign.

They sit there lonely with 11 points in the bag, three points away from the next team, eight points from third last, and 10 points away from safety. What else could the club do? Not much strange about him leaving now but was it the right time? The price of loyalty has made it challenging to assess if the Terriers can bring in new faces for Jan Siewert.

The time was now to cut ties, yes. However, it should have happened anytime before the transfer window opened. This would have allowed the head coach to get an idea of what’s going on at the club and time to recruit help.

Huddersfield will be hoping they will take off like Southampton

The 36-year-old Jan Siewert signed a three-year contract, lasting him until the summer of 2021. This time now is presumably the most questioning stage of Seiwert’s coaching career.

His first test is an intermitted team, Everton. The Blues from Merseyside has only obtained two wins in their last seven Premier League matches. The rest of the five games played by Silva’s men were all losses. They must take points in every game they play, starting with this home fixture against the Toffees.

The Terriers will want to follow in the way of Southampton, who was the last team to triumph against Everton. Regrettably, the new man at the helm has to square up against two of the top-six clubs, Chelsea and Arsenal, respectively. This will take place in his first three games as a head coach in the English Premier League.

Contract renewals displays bright future. dark. Next

Safe to say, Huddersfield’s run of fixtures were never favourable at the start of the season and now has been no different. Nevertheless, Jan’s fourth hurdle is the one he will want the most. A bottom-table clash between them and Newcastle.

The must-win event!

Let’s see if Jan Siewert can step up to the mount in the final inning and keep the save. Jan Siewert joins David Wagner (his predecessor) and Jurgen Klopp as the third staff member from Borussia Dortmund to join the English Premier League as a manager of a football club.
