English Premier League: Leaders Liverpool pass Crystal Palace test
The BIG differences between then and now is the one vital change FSG made. Switching from Brendan Rodgers to Jurgen Klopp has made the biggest difference at Anfield.
There’s been more than one occasion that I’ve pointed out how many similarities this run that the Reds are on, compares with the run of 2013/2014. Strange but we all know how many times the Reds have been in this position.
The club they fight for the EPL golden prize and the way some of the fixtures have been laid out brings back some memories. The only difference is the set of managers playing for the summit of the English Premier League table.
Saturday’s success over Palace was bigger than most think and believe it to be. There are two main reasons for this.
First was an in-game problem and something exposed tremendously, Milner played right back. The second was how the London side always had a hand in Liverpool’s misfortune in the past. The 3-3 draw which caused Luis Suarez to cry his eyes out and force a bite to Barcelona.
One campaign, Liverpool’s fight was for a Champions League entry. Palace came to Anfield and took all three points, with an ex-Red pulling the strings for the win. The hurt came time and time again from this team. So the significance of this win is more than we actually can put to mind at first thought.
Klopp has his team fighting from going a goal down and keeping a single goal lead. Klopp has 14 games left with a “game in hand”. This is the four points they are ahead by I take as their game in hand. This gives the impression the Reds of 2013/2014 have come a long way and are proving to be worthy of being labelled as the best team in te
