Shamefully for Palace, Firmino and Mane’s goals helped guide the Reds clear of the Eagles catching up, putting them out of reach before the final whistle was blown.

Jurgen Klopp had to use a makeshift right back, with Trent Alexander-Arnold facing a race against time to be fit for the game. However, no Trent produced the inclusion of James Milner as a fullback.

The trusty custodian had a treacherous time against the wicked winger, Zaha. So much so, in the last 10 minutes of the game, Milner got sent off for two brain-dead challenges. Nevertheless, this final minutes of madness had no bearings on the result.

The Reds of Merseyside finally expelled any notions they are not going to try everything in their power to keep their four-point rift. City answered back, keeping the two-headed snake going for the title alive.
