Two teams whose show barely disappoints when they meet on the pitch for 90 minutes. Since last season Wolves has stood as a troublesome opponent to Man City.

In last season’s FA Cup the two met and gave Pep a forgettable night. The Wanderers lost the tie but they were so close and made the Citizens work for a whole 120 minutes plus penalties to get a final verdict.

Move on a season, give Wolverhampton Wanders a promotion and they were right back at it. Of all the teams in the English Premier League, Nuno Santo’s men were the first to cause City to drop points in their title-defending campaign. It came with no surprise as we were well aware of the pain the Wanderers are able to inflict.

How will both fair in their second meeting? Well, it should be Wolves fretting the most of the duo. Man City has been on a major uproar since their victory over Liverpool, actually, even before that. A couple of slips before the end of 2018 yet, the bounce back has been one of note.

Since the Citizens’ back-to-back losses, they’ve scored 21 goals and conceded two in four games. In the last two cup encounters alone, they’ve managed 15 goals while holding out with two clean sheets. This gives the perception Pep and Man City are not to be messed with.

What has helped and will help is the return of City’s squad to almost fully fit. Only Benjamin Mendy should still be missing but we could perhaps see Sergio Aguero and captain Vincent Kompany if they recover in time. This makes matters worst for their visitors this evening and swings everything in City’s favour.
